"I earned my degree in Public Relation and Non-profit Management from VCU and spent over 13 years working in Early Childhood Education as a Children’s Librarian. My family moved to Pungo last year and we are loving the community. I enjoy traveling, cooking, baking, couponing, and being an active member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.

“My name is Jenn, and I'm so excited to start teaching the youngest students at Charity preschool! I taught at TCC for over 15 years,  so this will be a fun switch! I have a medical background, and volunteered at all 3 of my children's schools as they have grown up in Virginia Beach. My Husband and I own a small hobby farm, and try to do our best to take care of our little part of Earth.  I'm a art lover, I refinish old furniture, paint, work in clay and woodwork- You name it! I feel like I can bring out creativity in children and can't wait to share new things with the kids!"

” For the past two years, I’ve proudly served as the lead teacher for our 2 and 3 year old classes. Before accepting a position at Charity, i had many years of experience teaching yoga to children of all ages. Working with children has always offered up great joy for me. In addition to my love of teaching preschool, I adore gardening, chicken-keeping, cooking, writing, yoga, meditation and spending time seaside. My husband and I, along with our three children are proud residents of the Pungo community.“

“ I am the newest staff member at Charity! I started here in January 2020 as the new aftercare teacher and I LOVE all of your super sweet kiddos! My son, Cannon also attends Charity and will be graduating in June 2020! I am 27 and attended Charity Preschool myself many years ago! I was born and raised in Pungo and we have no plans of living anywhere else. A few of my favorite things are houseplants, iced coffee, fall, crafting, and diy projects!“

"After teaching for 34 years I retired in 2017. My last school was Creeds Elementary and I continued to substitute there. Teaching preschool was my first love! I am excited to work with this age group again! Especially, at Charity UMC Preschool where my daughter who is 24 went and enjoyed for 3 years! On my small farm in Pungo I enjoy gardening, yardwork, and caring for a variety of pet animals. As often as possible I hike, trail ride, camp with my horses, and work with children.

" I have been working at Charity Preschool since 2016. I really enjoy the company of young children, guiding them towards the love of God, and sharing my love of animals and the natural world. I am particularly interested in nature-based preschool learning, as well as the foundations of early literacy. I am honored to work at Charity preschool and be a part of the wonderful community at Charity UMC."

” I have been at Charity Preschool for 23 years. I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. All 4 have attended Charity Preschool and loved their time there. When my children were in school, I always volunteered at their schools. I have always loved being with children. I still volunteer at Creeds Elementary School. I hope I can make a little bit of difference in a child's love of learning. There's nothing better than seeing the light in a child's eyes when they master a simple concept such as using scissors correctly. There is one thing better - when you get a hug from a child and an "I love you".“

“ I started here at Charity Preschool in September of 2019. I love it here at Charity because I love the family and Christian based atmosphere. I really enjoy working with the children and I love seeing their smiling faces in the mornings as they come into school.”

“I have been teaching at Charity for nine years. My kids went to preschool here and I knew this was where I belonged. What I love most about teaching at Charity is my ability to share the love of Jesus Christ with children. I also enjoy the loving environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their confidence while they play. In my free time I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my animals.”

“ I always wanted a job that would make a difference. Charity Preschool became that place for me 13 years ago. Working with children is a joy. I love watching them grow and being a part of their lives, and helping them learn through play. It is so special to see a child’s face light up when they learn something new. The smiles and hugs are the most special gifts of all. What an honor to work with this special group of teachers.”

“ I'm a local girl, born and raised, who lives in Pungo and is a member of Charity Church. I have been married 22 years with two beautiful daughters, 15 and 19 years old (who both attended Charity Preschool), and 4 sweet, furry cat "sons"! At our preschool I don't feel like I "work" with children but I have the awesome chance to play with them sharing in moments of creating, experimenting and exploring!”
